India Gate

The India Gate, located in the heart of New Delhi was finished in 1931 and built as a memorial to the 72,000 Indian soldiers who were killed in battle during the 1st world war

At roughly 42.5 metres tall, the India Gate was built in such a location that it had some very key and important roads heading out from it. once one of the busiest roundabouts in the city, the roads are now closed due to terrorism concerns.

Red Fort

Situated in the heart of the capital the red fort is certainly one of the most popular tourist attractions in Delhi and is definitely a must for anyone thinking of travelling there.

In spots the Fort's 2.5 kilometer long wall reaches heights of over 33 meters.

Jantar Mantar





According to Wikipedia, the Jantar Mantra or Jantar Mantar as it is also known is a 'equinoctial dial'. At first one is struck by the beauty of this structure and thoughts of modern art and architecture but in fact the Jantar Mantra is an observatory. It was built by Sawai Jia Singh as a means to measure time and is still to this accurate to half a second.

Completed in 1929 at a cost of 1,253000 Stirling, the Rashtrapati Bhawan is a palace like no other. It is situated in the grounds of 130 hectares of beautiful parks and other structures.

The spectacular Qutab Minar is one of the most special and unique monuments in India and some say the world but it's origins are somewhat of a mystery and controversy. Some say it was built as a mark to the new rule of the Muslims in India
