Spicy Vegetable Pulao Recipe

This Spicy Vegetable Pulao recipe is certainly suitable for people who prefer something a little more spicy.

Of course if you like it really spicy then just add extra chillis to taste. Enjoy


  • 1 cup Rice

  • 2 cups of carrots, peas, brocolli or whetever you want really.

  • 1 small Cinnamon stick

  • 1 1/2 cups Water

  • 3 tbsp Butter

  • 2 Cardamom

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt

  • 3 Cloves

  • 1/2 cup grated Coconut

  • 2 Red Chilies (or more if you wish)

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric (powdered)

  • 4 Tomatoes (chopped)

  • 1 Medium Onion finely sliced

  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves

  • 2 pieces Garlic

  • 1 Tsp of ginger paste

Spicy Vegetable Pulao, Vegetable Pulao rice


Wash the rice in warm water and drain. Crush the tomatoes untill you get about one cup of water from them.

Heat the butter in a large pan, add the onion, chillies, cinnamon, a little tumeric, cardomon and the cloves and fry untill the onions turn golden brown.

Next add the ginger paste you made or bought and the garlic paste.Fry for another couple of minutes. Pour in the water from the tomatoes and one cup of water (from the tap). Add the coconut, salt and then bring to the boil and then let cool.

Add rice and vegetable and simmer on a low heat while the rice cooks. Leave undisturbed.
