Indian Rice Pudding Recipe

There is no better way to finish of a nice Indian meal than with this Indian Rice Pudding Recipe. It's thick, sweet and creamy, what more could you want from a dessert that only takes 5 Minutes to prepare!

This recipe serves 4 so multiply or divide the ingredients to suit your needs. Enjoy! The Hardest part is deciding what you want to eat with it - Jam, honey, Nutella, sugar, fresh fruit....

Ingredients

  • 100g rice (preferably Basmati)

  • 320ml cream (single)

  • 1 litre Milk

  • 4 tbsp Sugar

  • 1 tbsp water

  • Cardamon, ground

Method

Preparation time: 5 mins

Cooking Time:40 Mins

Firstly you need to rinse the rice in cold water. Do this several times to remove excess starch.

Put the rice in a bowl and then fill the bowl with hot water. Leave to soak for about 12 minutes.

Add the rice to a saucepan along with the ground cardamon, milk, sugar and cream.

Bring to the boil and stir constantly. Bring back down to a simmer and leave for 20 minutes. Add more sugar if you think it needs it.
