Indian Fry Bread Recipe

This Indian Fry Bread recipe is amazingly simple and tastes amazing. If your not careful and a little impatient then it can be a bit oily - but leave it on some paper towels or something for a few minutes and it will be fine.

YOu can put more or less anything you want on the fry breads, some suggestions are meat, cheese, salsa, avocado, cilantro or even a squeeze of lime for that little extra some thing! Of course you may even want to have it plain - it's surprisingly good.

Method

Mix the baking powder and flour in a large bowl with a little salt. Stir in water gradually and mix well. Form a ball with the dough.

Lightly four a board or other surface and knead the dough for a couple of minutes. It is important here to not over do the kneading part.

Cover and puit in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Tear of a piece of dough and roll into a small piece, smaller than your fit. Flattern sligghtly and cut a hole in the middle so it resembles a donut.

Shallow fry in the oil untill golden brown on both side. (about 4 mins depending on oil temperature). They should puff up nicely and look something like the photo above.

Simple as that. Enjoy!
