Ingredients

Now this may seem like a lot of ingredients but please bare in mind that some can be omitted with out changing the actual taste of the dish too much.

Part A

  • 2 lbs. boneless chicken breast

  • 1/4 cup yogurt

  • 3 tsp minced ginger

  • 3 tsp crushed garlic

  • 3 tbsp lemon juice

  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil

  • Melted margarine (for basting)

You will also need white pepper, tsp cumin powder, tsp mace, tsp nutmeg, tsp green cardamom powder, tsp chili powder, tsp turmeric

Part B

  • 5 oz. tomato paste

  • 2 lbs. tomatoes, chopped

  • 2 tsp ginger paste

  • 2 tsp garlic paste

  • 1 tbsp red chili powder

  • 2 tsp cloves

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 2 cups cream

  • 2 tsp ginger

  • 1 tsp honey

Method

The first part of this couldn't be much easier to be honest. Simply chop up the chicken breast into small pieces (2 Inches). Mix all of the ingredients in part A into a big bowl and add the chicken. Simple!

For a deeper flavor it is best to marinate over night in the fridge but 1 hour will do if you are short on time.

Get your oven nice and hot ( 350ยบ F) and heat the chicken for about 7 -9 minutes. Take it out a few times to put more marinade on it.

Drain excess marinade and bake for another 2 minutes.

Now comes Part B. Firstly, deseed and chop the green chilies. Put tomatoes and tomato puree in a pot and about 4 cups of water.

Add the ginger and garlic paste, green chilies, red chili powder, salt, cloves and cardamoms.

In a big pan, cookvery gently until it is reduced to a lovely thick sauce. Bring it to the boil and klet it cool. Stir in the cream and butter. Some people choose to add honey to it but it is up to you.

Simply serve with rice with the chicken and enjoy!
