Simple Chicken Korma recipe

Here with have a simple chicken Korma recipe. Takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete from start to finish and feeds 4 - 5 people.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 pounds chicken (chopped)

  • 2 cups yogurt

  • 2 chopped onions

  • 3 - 4 cloves garlic

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, chopped

  • 2 tsp sunflower oil or peanut oil if available

  • 2 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/2 tsp ground chili

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • Seeds of 2 peeled cardamom pod

  • 1 tsp poppy seed

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped

Method

Put the chopped chicken into a bowl and mix it with the yoghurt, one clove of chopped garlic, salt, pepper, ginger, one onion and paprika for about 2 hours.

Gently fry the last of the onion and garlic for about 2 minutes or less. Then set aside.

Add the coriander to the casserole dish along with the cumin, cardamom seeds, tumeric and poppy seeds. Fry for a few minutes and then add the chicken. Make sure you poor enough water to cover. Then add the remaining marinade and the onion and garlic you set aside earlier and a bay leaf or two.

Before serving, sprinkle with fresh coriander and serve!
