Ever since Mana Hotels threw open its doors in November, the Delhi-based hospitality chain has carved out a niche for itself by offering the best of services to its guests. Nestled among the calm valleys of the Aravalli, the hotel is located at Ranakpur, between the two historic towns of Jodhpur and Udaipur.It has emerged as the perfect getaway idyllic for people who want to calm their nerves tormented city.

For those who can’t find Ranakpur on the map, the town provides a wholesome concoction of the famous Jain temples that dot the town and the handicrafts that the local craftsmen excel in. The lush green landscape of the town and the seasonal river that flows through it, has made the place an oasis in the largely arid state of Rajasthan. The town never disappoints its guests. Besides both Udaipur and Jodhpur have several historical, cultural and natural attractions for the tourist.

Mana at Ranakpur is spread over 3.5 acres and has luxury villas, a swimming pool and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. The second property at Nathdwara is slated to be opened in April 2014. It is located at close proximity to the Shrinathji temple and would cater to the needs of the temple visitors who throng the town in huge numbers for darshan. Nathdwara is less than an hour’s drive from Udaipur and offers a great opportunity to enjoy life in the City of Lakes, sans any chaos of a tourist hub.

Mana Hotels can be termed as a nascent venture compared to the more established names of the hospitality industry. The chain has been pioneered by the Sheevam group. It is backed by investors who have reposed faith in the able management to steer the hotel chain forward. The management, in fact, comprises thorough professional having decades of experience in the hospitality sector and who are out to redefine luxury getaways. The goal is to set up budget boutique hotels in locations which offer something unique.

Business and hospitality are not the only two things that the hotel chain is interested in. From the very beginning, the enterprise ensured that all its decisions are well thought out and meaningful. The management, while ensuring that their main focus remains ultimate client satisfaction, has trained itself on socially responsible actions. In tune with this mantra, the hotel uses products that are made by non-government organisations (NGOs) that help people from the underprivileged sections of society.

It is from such organisations, namely Kadam and SASHA that the hotel sources its products used in the décor of the property at Ranakpur. Both organisations work to create new and sustainable employment opportunities at the grassroots level for the vast rural population of the country. Using local resources and skills, the items produced by the two NGOs, reflect the area’s cultural tapestry, besides showcasing India’s diversity. The ultimate aim of these two organisations is to set up small and medium scale industries within the rural space to reduce the migration of the youth to urban centres.

Says Rohan Rajgarhia, CEO, “A lot of decorative items, used in the rooms at Ranakpur, have been made by NGOs. This was a deliberate effort as a part of our corporate social responsibility strategy. By retaining the branding of the NGOs, we are offering a unique marketing platform to these organisations which are providing livelihood to the underprivileged sections of the society. The craftsmanship of these artisans has already caught the attention of several house guests at Ranakpur and our personnel have been asked to forward all such queries to the NGOs so that the latter can benefit.”

The concept of the hotel chain is nothing less than unique. Not many hotels of the like are known to source their products from NGOs. The hotel considers social and environmental consciousness as its responsibilities. It has already provided employment to youths from the neighbouring villages. In fact, such people constitute half of the total workforce at the Ranakpur.

As a part of its efforts to create a more informed traveller to the country, the hotel has introduced Traveller, an online magazine that will provide tourists and visitors to India a deep insight into the tourist destinations.
