Lamb Curry Recipe

This is a fairly basic Lamb curry recipe but delicous none the less.

It takes just over an hour to prepare which isn't to bad considering how nice it is.

Ingredients for Lamb Curry

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 250g lamb,Chpped into 2cm cubes

  • 1 medium onion,sliced thinly

  • 2 tablespoons curry powder

  • 1 1/2 cups chopped potato

  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)

  • 1/4 cup plain flour

  • 1/2 cup carrot (grated)

  • 1 1/2 cups beef stock

  • 1 tbsp firmly packed light brown sugar

  • 1 tsp each dry mustard and ground ginger

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp dried chilli (crushed)

  • Hot cooked rice

  • Steamed green peas





Method for cooking Lamb Curry

In a large pan, heat the oil, onion and garlic and simmer for about 5 minutes. Then add the lamb and curry powder and cook gently untill the meat is browned.

Next add the flour, make sure you stir it in well. Add the potato, mustard, ginger, salt, chilli flakes, sugar, carrot and beef stock and stir well again.

Cover the pan and then bring to the boil. Let it simmer for about 35 minutes or untill the lamb is nice and tender.

Serve the lamb curry with a sprinkling of corriander and freshly steamed peas and rice.
